Nick Proot, Ostend °1976, lives and works in Ghent, Belgium

In 1981 I made a remote control to operate the raindrops on the window. It was a piece of cardboard with two drawn buttons. Today I describe my works as transobjects. They transform according to the context and use different media such as performances, videos, photos, installations and models. The creations arise inside and outside the studio, always starting with the resources and space that are available. In my practice, serendipity is cherished. My works ask questions about space and its boundaries. It is an attempt to grasp the complexity of the context and to find a chemistry in the moment.
